On Wednesday 21st December we are planning a trip to the River Tryweryn in Wales. We are planning on paddling down from the White Water Centre down to Bala, it is a grade 2/3 with sections of grade 3. You can portage the final drop if you wish. For those who want to, you can paddle the White Water Centre, this is a Grade 3/4 Dam Release course.
We need around 5 paddlers who are intermediate standard to paddle the trip down to Bala. Also a minimum of 2 cars are needed due to the shuttle between the course and Bala.
If we can’t get 2 cars, we are paddling Tees Barrage WWC. This course is a great place to practice white water skills, but again, due to its nature you need to be confident on white water.
If you are interested contact Russ Johnson.
We will decide the river on Tuesday and it is currently subject to releases at the centres.
Russ.
Update: Perhaps the River Dee may also be a possibility (grade 2/3)…
Tryweryn not releasing this Wednesday.
So Tees Barrage which is releasing.. or go to cold Wales (where its currently snowing) and paddle the Dee.. You mentioned the cold TT, i’m happy paddling wherever π
TEES BARRAGE RELEASES.
Wednesday 21st
OPEN 1pm to 8pm.
Long Course Only 1-6pm
Short Course opne 6-8pm
Just email TBIWWC to see if their open as the back up to the Tryweryn. Just awaiting replies.
If neither are open we can still go to Wales and paddle the River Dee at Mile End Mill, Llangolen
Sounds like a plan π

Tryweryn for me too personally, but we need 2 cars to do the full trip. If we can only get one we’ll do the Tees π
would you reccomend a playboat for tees?
Yeah play boat would be the best for tees
Really? I’d have thought it might be a bit too much for a Kingpin? :/
think the tryweryn is the better idea of the two :
That would be my preference too Matthew π
