This weekend we’ll be running a club trip on moving water/white water on the River Ure.
The trip will be suitable for paddlers who have done some moving and white-water work with us. If you are unsure if it is suitable for you, please contact a club coach who can provide guidance to you.
Please note: There is a £6 charge per paddler paid to the site on arrival (for parking and maintenance of the river at the campsite). Payment by cash only, as the office is closed on the day we are paddling.
This saturday (7th Sept), we plan to go up to Sowerby Bridge. Suitable for intermediate paddlers, there are some rapids to learn some river skills and also some still/slow moving water to have a gentle paddle.
Any member requiring to borrow kit please drop us a message before 6pm Friday on Facebook or send an email to: club secretary
Postcode for SatNav is HX6 1AN (Google Maps). Try to meet for 10am to get on the water as soon as possible after 10:30.
Next Saturday we’re running our regular river session either on the Calder, or on the Calder & Hebble Navigation. Suitable for all, there are some rapids to learn some river skills and also some still/slow moving water to have a gentle paddle.
Please ensure you arrive in time to be changed and kitted out and ready to get on the water for 09.30.
We have managed to secure storage for the container near the Navigation Inn with direct access to the canal. We have had to move kit around so the container could be moved.
Important: Parking is extremely limited at the new location. There is some limited parking available close to the container, however it is strongly advised to park on Broad Cut Road (where safe and legal to do so) and walk over the bridge. Parking is restricted at the Navigation Inn for non-patrons.

The trustees of West Yorkshire Canoe Club (Charitable Incorportated Orgsnisation) would like to invite all members to an annual general meeting of the charity to discuss the previous year and plans for the future.
This is an important event that will review the performance of and determine the direction of the club, the priorities for the coming year, and selecting the committee members and trustees who will run your club for the next year. We would urge as many members as possible to attend the AGM and have your say.
