Every great club has a mascot and we have ours!

Femo the fish, owned by Benjamin Cove-Mullins, if your see a orange fish at any of our events or pool sessions that’s him.

The story of Femo:

“Pre been the West Yorkshire canoe club mascot, Femo used to live in the River Calder. One day in January, Ben saw the sad looking fish on a river bank and took him under his paddle as 1 of his own. Today Femo has been altered slightly to make him more playable, he has a ball inside his stomach so he floats and has been sewn up numerous times when the canoeist have been to rough with him. Ben his owner has sat in his kitchen with radio 1 on and a mug of hot chocolate an a needle n thread sewing him back together many times.” - Written by Laura Waterson
